Sausage & Pepper Sandwiches

1 lb. Sweet or Hot Italian Sausage cut into links

½ cup water

1 medium green pepper cut into 1-inch pieces

1 medium red pepper cut into 1-inch pieces

1 large onion, sliced separated into rings

1 tbsp cooking oil

½ tsp dried oregano, crushed

¼ tsp dried basil, crushed

4 hoagie buns split and toasted

In a large skillet cook sausage links over medium heat or until brown, turning frequently.  Add water.  Bring to a boil.  Reduce heat.  Simmer covered for 15-20 minutes or until no longer pink.  Drain sausages on paper towels.  Add green and red pepper pieces, onion, oil, oregano, and basil to skillet.  Cook and stir about 5 minutes until veggies are tender crisp.  Add sausages and heat through.  Place sausages on rolls and top with pepper & onion mixture.
